I am a 24-year-old designer / developer from Finland, where my location is usually either Espoo (in capital city area) or town of Kokkola (west Finland). I've made my first website when I was 13-years-old and first proper print product when I was 18. I've been always very tech-savvy person, but besides that also interested of how stuff is visually presented.

Education

Most of my skills so far are acquired by spending unhealthy amounts of time in front of the computer during my free time.

As from official education, I am studying Media Engineering (BEng.) in Metropolia UAS Espoo (Finland). I have also studied Multimedia-Art (BA.) for one semester in Salzburg UAS (Austria) as an european exchange student.

Experience

Besides many freelancing projects through out the years, I’ve got work experience from Finnish National Defense University where I worked as graphic designer for 7-months out of my 9-month conscript service. By working totally five years in printing houses and in different tasks in every part of the workflow (from pre-press through newspaper printing itself to post-press operations) I’ve acquired much first-hand experience in print products.

I just started working as Front-end Developer at Telkku.com which is quite a big site by Finnish standards. I am quite excited about the job and fully concentrating on it now.

Expertise

As a designer; I find myself very keen on designing ways to display information clearly and effectively - no matter what the medium.

As a developer; I seek ways to make the information as accessible as possible: so stuff like website's semantic structure, search engine friendliness and taking different types of users and use cases into account are important to me.

Technology-wise, I am skillful with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript/jQuery. For the back-end part I operate with PHP and MySQL in Apache & Linux environment. For content management systems I use mainly Wordpress or custom built systems.
